Interesting places between Lucca and Milan

We will be in Italy starting with a few days in Florence. Then move to a villa south of florence for a few days then we will be staying with friends in Lucca. Our flight home leaves from Milan. We have 3 days free and are looking for an interesting area between Lucca and Milan. Suggestions? Hotels? Thanks

Hi Glk - If you're going up through Liguria it's hard to beat the Portofino peninsular area (Santa Margherita, Portofino, Camogli, Rapallo) - the most scenic part of the riviera IMO.

Well worth 3 days ...

Or ... the Cinque Terre?

Hope this helps ...

Steve

Ira, none of those are between Lucca and Milan, and Venice and Padua are the other side of the country !!

What time of year ? If it's the summer, would you fancy a beach resort in Tuscany ? Otherwise how about Genoa ?
