Inside a home in VENICE...

It is interesting how homes are built in Venice so that family's live on the 2nd floor....
have you ever seen inside a home in venice?

First/ground floors are still used if they aren't prone to flooding.

The use of different floors for different purposes is not a characteristic of Venice alone. In other parts of Italy, Europe, and even the US, different floors had different uses based on sensible planning for public and private use, with spaces becoming more and more private the higher the floor.

My Venetian friends that own a flat live on the 4th floor....the price for the flat was more reasonable!! lol

Davide's home on Burano is on the ground floor....he has a little flood-gate that we climb over as we enter the house. Burano homes are generally more modest affairs...

Yes...Venice is enchanting....she's an enchantress!!

Wow if I had a friend owning a residence in Venice they'd immediately become my BEST friend whom I'd have to visit several times per year!
