insect repellant needed in JUne?

Do I need to take the above to Ireland?

Topping because I'm sure some one has an answer!

From my own experiences I have never used insect repellent in Ireland although I've never been camping there either.

Only once was I besieged by insects and we were near a large lake, at dusk and they didn't "attack" us, just swarming.

The "midges" in Scotland can be awful in the summer...have no idea if they exist in Ireland. I just remember geting bitten by bugs so small you cannot see them. In Florida, we call them "no see'ums". I think the most widely recognized resistant is Avon's Skin-So-Soft. And no, I am not a representative anyone...

Yes. Bring Skintastic made by OFF. It comes in a spray pump container and works great.

I just returned from 8 days there (May 31 to June 8). Never saw anything but a few gnats. We were walking near the upper lake in Glendalough (Wicklow Mountains area) and it did appear that in the early evenign a few little buggies were out at that point in the wooded areas off the lake but otherwise we encountered no problems. My GF is extremely bug phobic - especially towards mosquitoes. She used no repellent on our trip and never complained of even seeing a mosquito.
