Innsbruck hotel help
 

My family and I will be travelling through Innsbruck at the end of May and would love any help on hotel recommendations - we tried 3 mentioned in an earlier thread but all were booked. Anyone familiar with these 2:

I don't know if this will help. We've been to Innsbruck 4 times and have stayed at Gasthof Badl, Hall in Tirol 3 times. We love it's location, view (ask for room with balcony), the friendly staff and reasonable and nice restaurant.It's approx. 6 miles east of Innsbruck and has a foot-bridge to the "Old Town" of Hall, which is beautiful. www.badl.at
With a car, by train or bus, it's very easy and only a few minutes to Innsbruck. We also stayed once in Hungerburg, overlooking Innsbruck. Again, easy by car and they have a "tram-funicular" that goes down to Innsbruck. www.cafe-pension-alpina.at

Both Gasthofs you mentioned are well located.

We have stayed in Innsbruck on four trips to Austria, and either would be a good choice.

The Gasthof Wesses Rossl is in the pedestrian-only section of the old town, and they charge 11 Euro extra (or more) per day for car parking.

The Schwarzer Bar is across the bridge from the old town. A three-minute walk will get you to the entrance to the old town. The better rooms would be those facing the river, and on a higher floor. (Mariahiflstrasse is a busy road--but, the traffic quiets down after 9:00pm.) The Schwarzer Bar also has parking facilities, but I don't know what the extra fee is per day.

Both are rather minimalistic in decor, but you can be certain that each will be spotlessly clean.

I would let my budget dictate the choice between the two. ( Whichever has availability could make the decison for you.)

If you are arriving by train instead of car, both are easily reachable by tram from the train station.

Neither have air-conditioning; however, I don't think you should have to worry about that in the month of May.

If I can recommend, the Tyrolean evening at the Hotel Seiler is a fun night out if you are up for yodeling, alpine horn blowing, schutzplatz, and folk dancing (mixed with lots of laughs and audience participation.)
Advance reservations are necessary, and can be arranged by calling the hotel. If you will be in Innsbruck on an evening the show is presented, go---you won't regret it.

My family stayed at the Gasthof Wesses Rossl a few years ago. There were three of us, and from what I recall, the room was clean, fairly spacious, and quite pleasant. We loved the location, although with a front room, an open window at night can mean you get a little street noise from people in the dining in the restaurants below. However, I'd stay there again.

Haven't stayed at either of those. I did stay at THE PENZ. A really cool newish hotel with a great location in the center of town.
