Innsbruck?
 

Does anyone have any hotel recommendations for Innsbruck? Also, for getting to the ski slopes, is it best to have a car or can you take public transportation?

<hi, I am currently in Austria. We were in Innsbruck on saturday for 1 day. There are buses going to the ski resorts, as well there is a special i saw at the tourist office for 49 euros for bus, ski tickets, and rentals for one day at stubai glacier. We skied at hintertux one day on thur,,, was icey though due to the mild weather a few weeks back. <great spot to stay and ski is mayrhofen and check out www.hotel-andrea.com totally excellent spot

I was in Innsbruck for about a week three years ago. We stayed at the Hotel Innsbruck which was really nice. It is just a couple of blocks from the old town area. It has a restaurant and bar that were good also. Plus, there was a great restaurant right across the street next to the river (sorry but I don't recall the name). I would definitely stay there again.

Sorry but I forgot to mention about the slopes. As I recall, there was a shuttle service that would pick up at the hotel and deliver to several of the local slopes.
