Stay in Salzburg for 1 night. Rent a car early morning & go to Hallstatt.Â

From Bad ischi drive to grossglockner. How many nights ?

Drive back to Salzburg, drop the car & return to Vienna by train

We love to drive on scenic routesÂ

How does this soundÂ

Our budget for hotels is €150/night. Is this good enough for a reasonable , clean , comfy accommodation. We are not looking for anything fancy. Actually wanted to do Switzerland but we see that accommodation and all other stuff/entertainment/transportation is all too expensiveÂ

We are also trying to decide another country to combine with Austria. First country that comes to mind is Italy , but any other cheaper country optionÂ
