Information on driving through Croatia to Athens

Hi just wondering if someone out there could post their experiences driving from Croatia through to Athens going the coastal route. Would appreciate any help on this!! Any special stops we should do?? How about any B/B suggestions??

Most rental car companies and auto-lease companies will not provide insurance to drive through Bosnia/Herzegovina and Serbia/Montenegro. American credit card companies will not provide insurance either. To get to Greece from Croatia your options are to drive through Hungary and Romania and onwards, or to take the ferry from Split to Bari or Brindisi Italy and then to take the ferry from there to Albani or Greece.

Hi Thanks for the reply, we are renting a motorcycle and it's insured for all countries. We are going to look into ferry travel too. Any suggestions on that one??

i surly wouldn't recommend you to drive through Albania..
Other than that, where would you return your rented motorcycle? in Athens? and how would it be delivered to the point where you picked it up? have you clarified all these points? are there extra charges? is the company that rents the motorcycles reliable? do you have a written confirmation that insurance in included in all these countries? You will have to pass through Montenegro and Albania before arriving to Greece....
I would clarify all these points first in order to avoid any serious complications during my trip, if i was you....
