info request for Ischia, please
We're spending 2 days in Ischia Porta on our trip to Rome/AC will have a car in AC, should we take car to Ischia or leave in Naple? Anyone know of good Restaurants? I have not a clue what to expect except great therme's. We're staying @ Regina Palace, anyone had any experiences there, good or bad? If we take car how long will it take to drive around the island, or is that doable?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Gee, hard to say. When we went to a fabulous terme on Ischia, our italian friends did not ferry/drive. We took a boat to the island, and taxi'd around easily. If you do that, I would turn in your car at Naples rather than park it somewhere- there is high theft there. Usually car rental companies put special locks on the gear shifts too if you are in Naples.

Hi, Donna!
Do a "text search" for "Ischia". There are several previous posts that answer part of your question. For example, restaurants and some things to do are answered in the "Naples/Ischia Restaurant Recommendations" posting.
I agree with the previous poster (Carol) to turn in your rental car in Naples rather than parking it there. You could also take it on the ferry to Ischia so you'll have a car there.
Ischia is larger than I had expected---it is much larger (to my surprise) than Capri. It is certainly "doable" to drive around the island in a few hours. Of course, you'll want to stop and sightsee, shop and eat!
Have a wonderful time! (I'm headed there myself in less than 3 weeks!)

Alba, we're not going to Ischia until October 11, if possible after your return would you write a post with useful info on Ischia? Thanks for the reponse and have a good trip.
