Info on Vantage Tours

A friend has just asked me to join her on a 15 day group tour to Croatia and surrounding areas done by Vantage Tours (a Boston company). Has anyone used this company and what was your opinion?

Oops, the company is called Advantage Travel, not "tours."

My husband and I also booked with Vantage. Did some investigating of the company before signing up and did not find anything negative other than the usual gripes all companies experience at some time or other. Hope your enquiry does not produce really negative feedback!

Thanks. I am giving this trip serious consideration. Never thought to go to that area but when the opportunity falls into your lap.......I am not getting any younger and want to spend money on travel while I am still working and can recoup it. I suspect I will be too "responsible" when I am living on retirement. LOL

Retired and planning the same trip. Did you go and if "yes" how was it???

The trip was wonderful, far beyond my expectations. My one complaint was that it was advertised as limited to 25 and turned out to be 40 people. The young female guide was intelligent and well informed (degrees in philosophy and history); I learned so much from her discussions while we traveled. The bus was comfortable; rest stops were timed for about every 2 1/2 hours. Local guides were good also; and we had several off-shore cruises which were delightful.

One of my best memories is the home dinner in the hills above Dubrovnik; what wonderful hospitality (even if the family is paid for it!). I wish the trip could have been twice as long; we saw so much but I wanted more, more, more. But, then there is always another trip next year!

The area is one of such beauty that I was in total sensory overload (I am an artist and photographer). The Adriatic is a color hard to describe. It was saddening to see the war damage in the inland areas driving to Plitvice Lakes. Most of the damage along the coast area had been repaired.

I would highly recommend both the tour company and the area. Hope you enjoy your trip.
