Info on Stresa
We're planning on spending a few nights in April in Stresa. La Palma was recommended to us, but I can't find their website. Can someone help me? Is it better to check through other avenues? I'm open to other suggestions for lodging and restaurants.
Thanks. |

We stayed a night at La Palma in September. We were most impressed with the rooms and the staff. We asked for a superior room, I think it was 501, and we were very happy. Huge room, balcony and enormous bathroom. We wished we had stayed longer. Even if you do not get a big room there is a super lounge downstairs with really comfy couches etc where you can relax, read and have a great cup of tea.
The staff recommended Le Triangolo for dinner which was a few minutes walk away in town. It was quite formal without being stuffy and the food was excellent. The best capuccino in Italy!! Try the veal with hazlenut sauce if they have it, very good. |
We stayed at La Palma two summers ago. Excellent lake views from our very comfortable rooms, and wonderful service downstairs in the lounge. The hotel has a beautiful lakeside pool, and is very helpful in making arrangements to get to the Borromean Islands with water taxi service. Also in a very good location for strolling around Stresa! Have fun, and if you go, see if they still make the fabulous hot minted chocolate at the bar in the downstairs lounge. It is the stuff legends are made of!
