Info on Languedoc?

We are thinking of spending a week or so in the Languedoc area of France doing sketching/photography, but have never been there. Would Sept. be a good time? Any suggestions of things to see/do while there? What is weather like? Any info will be appreciated.

I guess Toulouse is technically in the Midi, not Languedoc, but two years ago in late September the weather was glorious. It would have been perfect for photography. Would recommend seeing Toulouse, Carcasonne and Albi, by the way.

September will be glorious in the Languedoc - still warm enough to swimin all likelihood but cool evenings and brilliant foliage. <BR>There was a lovely and comprehensive article on the Languedoc in last month's Atlantic magazine. You can read it online. If you can't find it, let me know, and I'll e-mail it to you, as I saved it.
