No, but I've got the train from Pisa airport to Florence. V. easy - it goes into Pisa first, you stay on the train, then off to Florence.

Do you mean the Hotel Martelli? If so, DH and I stayed there and it was fine. Would stay again. right down the street from the Duomo, and a great market behind it.

If you are talking about the Terravision shuttle bus, it's only if you are arriving on one of the listed budget airlines. www.terravision.it

The timetables at http://www.terravision.it/florence_pisa.html# state that all but the first bus (8:40) and last bus (22.00) to Florence go on from the Florence S.M.N. station to Florence airport.

Between these buses and the many trains you have lots of options. Some trains go all the way, many require that you change in Pisa's main (Centrale) station to the Florence train - it's a piece of cake unless you have masses of luggage.

But consider this: Stash your bags with the deposito bagagli window at Pisa Centrale and walk out to the leaning tower before heading back into town and picking up a later train. Much fun!
