try "premier class" in the district Montreux (spelling). bad: little out, small rooms. good: 7 min walk to the metro, and about 150 FF a room.
have fun

For Margo
I love your extensive recommendations with details of rooms and that you take the time to put in so much detail.

This is not a criticism. I just find all the info without spacing confusing and hard to follow. I usually copy your info into Word and then space it out myself.

Perhaps if you leave a line between various room descriptions it would makes it easier to follow. I know that might make your posting a little long and it might just be me who is thus challenged. but just a thought. (And again, I really don't want this to sound like a criticism because you have no doubt been very helpful to many.)

Thank you for all the other hotel info you give on other postings.

Margo is back. I guess she thinks we have short memories.

I can give a personal, non-commerical recommendation for Hotel La Motte Picquet. We stayed there in December 1998 and will be staying there again in 2 weeks [Oh YEEEEEEEESSSSS.. Paaaaaaaris] It's maybe not as charming or as welcoming as some other board favorites -- but if you observe the "politesse" [bonjour madame etc...] it will be a very pleasant stay.
