going to barcelona in august for 2 days have a few questions best and easiest way to get from the airport to colon hotel what will it cost. how should WE spend an afternoon, one full day and a morning before our cruise should we take a tour(which one?) we are coming on a tuesday thanks.

What's "best" for you depends on what you value. <BR> <BR>The train will take you to Placa de Catalunya, which is fairly close (about 5-7 blocks) to the Hotel Colon. On your first evening there, I'd highly recommend walking up to Passeig de Gracia and seeing Gaudi's wonderful Casa Batlo; it's especially beautiful lit up at night. The Hotel Colon is in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, and that's a great place to explore. Wander along La Rambla, from Placa de Catalunya to the Port. Visit Gaudi's other amazing building on Passeig de Gracia, Casa Mila (also known as La Pedrera). If you have time on your full day, consider a visit to either (or both) Gaudi's Sagrada Familia or Parc Guell.

The Bus Turistica (hop-on/hop off) is a convenient and fairly economical way to see the city in one full day. It goes to many of the important sights, and you can determine which interest you enough to spend time at. Casa Mila (also called La Pedrera)was one of our favorite stops. The building itself is quite unique, and it has a lovely little museum devoted to Gaudi and his amazing architecture. <BR> <BR>Other interesting places are La Sagrada Familia (Gaudi's famous unfinished church) and the Gothic Quarter. Srolling down Las Ramblas is also fun.

Take the Gaudi/city bus tour. You will see quite a bit in one day. Then stroll Las Ramblas.

Agree with the Bus Turistica which will circle all of the highlights. If you are a foodie consider a visit to the incredible foodmarket on the Ramblas. I think it is open everyday but Sunday and Monday.
