Inexpensive trieste hotels?
Does anyone know of some inexpensive hotels in trieste? We will be staying there in July for a few days. A search on all the ususal sites has only fairly expensive hotels, or ones that are too far from the center. I found less expensive places in venice and florence!! We would like a private bathroom. Would appreciate any help.

Trieste is a large city, and the choices are not all that good for city its size. I would suggest the following possibilities that are centrally located and reasonably inexpensive:
-Hotel Abbazia, phone 011-39-40-369464 -Hotel Italia, phone 011-39-40-369900 Both these are smaller hotels with A/C and elevators, a free breakfast, and their prices should run around $125, perhaps a bit more. Good luck. |
Thanks Wayne, I'll check those out!

We really liked the Hotel Alabarda in January. It's right downtown, inexpensive, and the owner was exremely friendly and helpful. It's not fancy, but the rooms were big and clean. We loved Trieste, by the way. At the website below you can access email and telephone numbers.http://www.hotelalabarda.it/

I think we paid about 70 dollars a night for two people, by the way.

topping (as I have the same question, although we are going in August...)

Well, it just so happens that you asked a timely question, Jackie-I will be in Trieste very soon, and am familiar with virtually every hotel in the city now!
Since you will be there in August, hopefully at the end of August, you MIGHT be able to get into these places-but I must warn you, I could not, because I will be there a little later than you, and I waited too long. The #1 hotel/inn I recommend is the Albergo Nascosto, followed by Albergo alla Posta-both of these are near the train station, but the Albergo Nascosto, has it all, and great rates as well: www.alberonascosto.it/hotel-trieste/index.htm www.albergopostatrieste.it |
