Inexpensive restaurants in the 7th
 

I'm looking for places for lunch in the 7th for a group of 6 women. Last time I was there I noticed there were lots of cafes in the area, but don't know which ones are good. Any help would be appreciated.

What's your definition of inexpensive? And are you looking just for French food (because there are good alternatives)?

As noted in some other threads, I have a list called "A Selection of 80 Inexpensive and Good Parisian Restaurants (French Cuisine Only)" published by Paris Eiffel Tower News around 2006 (so may not be completely up to date). Two lovely restos focusing on French dishes done with style on the Boulevard de la Tour Maubourg: Pasco, opposite the barracks, and La Cuisine, which is closer to the River Seine. Both really welcoming, great food and good value for money. Pasco is slightly more casual than La Cuisine, but La Cuisine's white chocolate mousse canneloni with warm chocolate sauce is unmissable!

I wouldn't describe most of the places listed as "inexpensive" - perhaps "moderate - for Paris".

Bistrot du 7ieme was a nice, reasonably priced place, lots of locals.

"Inexpensive" and "7th" are mutually exclusive terms in Paris if you have the same definition of inexpensive that I do -- but you probably don't. <b>My</b> inexpensive restaurants cost no more than 20€ per person.

Another vote for Bistro du 7eme. And would fit Kerouac.

For lunch, we would like to spend no more than 20 euros. Thanks for all your suggestions. I have reservations for dinner at Le Florimond and I thought we might try Pasco for lunch. But I will certainly check out the other restaurants recommended to see which ones are open for lunch.

Pasco and Le Florimond are okay, but pricey, I think, for the food. You can do much better in the 7th and elsewhere.

I enjoy Cafe Rousillon when I am in Paris; on the corner of Rue Cler and Rue de Grenelle. They have some very good salads along with Magret de Canard and a wonderful Entrecote for Two which is cooked exactly the way you like it!. There are wines by the pitcher. Wines are available by the glass, bottle of pitcher

It is always filled with locals. At night it draws in tourists but it still has a wonderful, real feel/genuine quality to it.

We too have had a very good, and inexpensive lunch at Cafe Rousillion.
