Kavey:

Please clarify again: when you said 50Euro at Raffaelle, you meant 50Euro per person right?

John, when we had a 3 course meal there with wine and other drinks it was about 50 Euros per person, possibly 55.

For only one main dish each plus one glass wine I think it would be around 25 Euros per person.

I agree with Kavey's price estimate as well as her praise of Da Raffaelle.
For 50e for two, search here or elsewhere for Trattoria San Toma.
Everything from Pizza to more serious food. You can dine outside in good weather. 20-50 euro pp, depending on what you order or if you have wine. Good desserts, too.

I have a file on Venice; if you'd like to see it, email me at

Dorsoduro: Ristorante da Gianni
918 Zattere, Phone: 041-523-7210
Closing day: Wednesday
We went there twice in one week, we enjoyed it so much. Fantastic pizza and excellent frito misto. You can eat outside, and watch the people in the neighborhood walking their dogs. Great fun.

I agree with Elaine on Trattoria San Toma. We ate there on our first night in Venice, our first night in Italy for that matter. The restaurant is in a lovely "square" with tables set outside-it looked like a movie set it was so beautiful outside. During dinner fireworks went off in the sky....what a great first night in Venice...
