Inexpensive Hotel to stay at near athens airport
 

We are a family of four arriving into Athens from Santorini at 7pm at night and are catching a 2pm international flight the next day out of Athens. The Holiday Inn Athens - Attica Avenue has been recommended to us, even though it still does not look that close to the airport. Any input appreciated. We will need two rooms, one for my husband and I and one for our two teenagers. We do not need anything fancy, just clean and well maintained and an easy ride to the airport.

The two closest hotels I know of are St. Thomas B&B and Peri's Hotel.

You've also got enough time to head into Athens proper for a final night and take in a nice dinner..you'll have loads of choices in Town and the metro is fast enough leaving you smack central at Syntagma Square in about 40 min! Loads of hotels to choose from in area convenient for transport/easily walkable;-) Enjoy!

Thank you brotherleelove. Both look great and I have emailed them for rates and availability. Litsa, we are going to Athens before we go to the islands so I think we will just chill the night before our flight in some little town but I appreciate the info:).

Another option is a 20 minute bus or taxi ride to Rafina, and stay at either Hotel Avra or Corali. Rafina is a small port town near the airport, with lots of nice tavernas and restaurants. Plenty of good choices for your last evening meal in Greece, and an opportunity to walk around the port next morning before heading to the airport. Avra and Corali are both near the bus stop. :-)
