inexpensive B7B in Bath

Does anyone have a recommendation for an inexpensive B&B in Bath? I've done a search here and looked into some of the recommendations, but I'm finding the places mentioned are beyond our budget. Looking for 40-50GBP range.

There is a delightful B&B we stayed at called The Footman's Cottage, In Wellow, Bath. The proprietors (Mr & Mrs Nixon) talked to us during breakfast and were very charming. The place is across from a pub, and is on the Wellow high street. I highly recommend it! We had it as part of our B&B voucher program, so it is probably reasonably priced.

I didn't find anything on the web about it, but their phone is 01225 837024. Good Luck!

We enjoyed the Sydney Gardens Hotel, a 6-room B&B on the outskirts of Bath, within walking distance of the city center, but right on Sydney Gardens, with lovely views -- and free parking! IIRC, we paid about £50 for our rooms, One was a family-type room with 3 beds. The place is nonsmoking, has ensuite baths, and offers full English brakfast.

Also, remember that rates are seasonal. If you're traveling off-peak the official rates are lower and also often negotiable.

We stayed at Holly Villa in Nov for GBP 48 (in room shower, private toilet, but down the hall). The owners were really great people and we would highly recommend the B&B. It's about a 10 minute walk (across the Avon) to the abbey and Roman baths.

Website: http://www.bath.org/hotel/holly.htm
