Inexpensive airfare between European cities? Website?
Hello!
I am looking into the possibility of flying from Denver to London and then booking a flight from London to Rome instead of flying direct, as I have heard it can be less expensive to travel this way. Could those in-the-know please tell me a good website for researching airfare between European cities?
Thanks!

I found amazing deals on www.volareweb.com for flights within Italy, but they also offer deals throughout Europe.

Not sure if this is too tangential, but see http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...2&tid=34513585

Your long-haul flight would land either at Heathrow or Gatwick airports near London. No discount carrier operates between either of these airports and Rome (other Italian cities, yes, Rome, no.) Thus you'd have to make your way across London to Stansted or Luton to pick up Easyjet in all likelihood, which would take you to Ciampino airport, a cozy little place not too far from Rome.
I would probably look at Frankfurt or Amsterdam as a change point, e.g., DEN-AMS then AMS-FCO (Rome) on Virgin Air. That way you don't have to schlep across some city while in a jet-lagged funk.

Actually, Easy Jet will begin flying from London Gatwick to Rome Ciampino on October 31 of this year. So there is hope after all if you are going after that. They already fly to Naples from Gatwick as well.
They have been adding numerous routes, so keep checking.

Go to www.flyeurope.com. Their searchengine will show all airlines flying this route with timetables and (very)discounted fares. Whatever flight interests you can be checked at the individual airline website so you can tell if you're getting a good deal. This sight led me to volareweb.com for a fantastic deal RT Paris-Venice.
