Indonesian restaurant - need help

All - need advice on Indonesian food in Amsterdam. Price no object, proximity to Blake's Hotel preferred, must serve Indonesian beer (Bingtang). Will be eating alone. Thanks in advance for your guidance!

Your hotel should be able to make good recommendations as well.

I don't know where Blake's Hotel is, but I ate at Sarang Mas, on Damrack, just about 2 blocks up from Centraal Station. At my Dutch friend's encouragement I wanted to try the Rice Table (I'd use the Dutch word but I'll mangle the spelling!) I thought I would feel awkward having a feast like that by myself, but it turned out to be a great experience.

Have a great time!

Are you looking for rijsttafel or just individual Indonesian dishes?
We were sent by locals to Cilubang. We ended up doing the rijsttafel, but you can order off a menu. It is a small and cozy family run place -- very nice and good, but nothing fancy and not expensive. We had Indonesian beer, but couldn't tell you if it was Bingtang (is that a brand or is that Indonesian for beer?). It is not far from Blakes, but I couldn't tell you the exact address.

Tempo Doeloe is the best Indonesian restaurant in Amsterdam. They have an extensive menu with a la carte items and also prix fixe, which I recommend. Very nice place and super friendly service. It was by far the best meal of our trip. They are located at 75 Utrechtsestraat, (020) 6256718 tel. Enjoy!

We dined at Indrapura while in Amsterdam in December. It was recommended by our hoteliere and we were very satisfied. It was located in Rembrantplein. They offered 3 prix fixe meals ranging from 24E to 38E, one of which was extra spicy.

You may want to check it out. There was a great pianist the night we were there which really added to the atmosphere.

Thanks to all. Would Indrapura be an appropriate place for dining alone? Also, shall I assume they sell Indonesian beer? Probably a safe assumption, but having unsuccessfully scoured the New York area for Bintang or Bali Jai, I simply insist on authentic beer!
