I notice that some posts come up multiple times under different selected countries when searching those countries but without any other search criteria placed in the search box.

How is that done? I assume the post is not entered multiple times.

When requesting a specific country does it search based on the country selected when entered or the wording in the post?

Hope this question is clear.

Hi M,

A. The search functin on this site isn't all that good.

B. Most posters don't enter a specific country, since everything goes to the European board.

C. The best way to search this site is to use Google:

"paris hotel" bakery grocery site:fodors.com

If you look next to the pull down list -- is the instruction "hold control key to click more than one"

That is how it is done. When posting a new the thread about say Amsterdam and Brugge - youu click on both the Netherlands and Belgium . . . . .

The explanation by janisj is "spot on", to the OP's question.

Best wishes,

Rex

The OP asked two questions, viz, "How is that done?" (which is answered in the text next to the topics box) and "When requesting a specific country does it search based on the country selected when entered or the wording in the post?"

The answer to the second question is: the country search is unreliable. For example, if one selects "San Marino" and no other criteria, one gets this: http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34637039 possibly because the OP had "San Marino" selected at the time of the post.

Which is why I suggested using Google.
