We like the hotel Due Torri--between the Piazza Navona and the Tiber River, on a quiet street with good airconditioning, small but charming rooms and large terraces off the rooms on the 5th floor.

Buon viaggio!

travelfan1,

Armando al Pantheon is closed Saturday night and all day Sunday. It depends on what you wish to order but I would budget for 35 euros.

I always find the house wine to be good and inexpensive.

Have a great time at Baldassini.

If you are taking a train from the airport to trastevere you would want the local F1 line to the Trastevere stop. From there you can take the #8 tram or a cab. We also used this train when we wanted to get to the ghetto area across the Tiber from Trastevere. Hotel Arenula mentioned by several of us is right off the same tram line and is near Campo de'Fiori

better staying in the Piazza Navona or Campo dei Fiori area, if so a hotel name would be great. It looks like we can walk everywhere from those areas. Thank you again and assistance

Richwah, I gave you 7 hotel names in that area all within your budget. Did none of them have rooms available??

Look about 15 posts up - about Hotel San Francesco. The Garden view rooms, recommended, are the ones with an even number.

Thank you all very much for your wonderful advice and information, with your help we have been able to find and book a room at the hotel La Maison dell'Orologia near the Piazza Navona. As a firt time user of Fodor's for travel information I must say that I have been overwhelmed by the helpfulness and consideration of everyone who has responded to my questions. Without a doubt our trip is off to a great start as a result of you all.
Thanks again.
Rich
