colduphere,
I disagree... because you keep posting on my threads. You must get some satisfaction from reading them .. a.k.a pleasure, enjoyment
As you are aware because you have commented on my other postings (that you do not enjoy), I have visited Canada many times and have enjoyed my trips there.
Don't be "Cold" or take offense because I have shared one bad experience, I have also shared many good ones!

What kind of threshhold is a speeding ticket or dislike for customs officials actions for dismissing an entire country?
I cannot remember one trip where everything went smoothly or everyone treated us the way we THINK we should be treated.
In Turkey I had my pocket picked and the most absurd situations with car rentals. That included leaving our renatal car with airport manager at Kayseri because the car rental agent forgot to come.
But I would return to Turkey tomorrow, because the country is greater than those occurances.

Another Ugly American scoffing their nose at local laws they are expected to abide by but refuse, thinking they have special status to ignore things like speeding.
Such carping makes all American tourists look like similar louts.

You are not much of a traveller if you let the inconsequential things get to you and then write off a country for a paltry complaint. Big deal: the laundry list. Not impressed. Bulletin: you're not special; you're not entitled. People need to do their jobs and when they have to put up with a pain in the backside such as yourself, my sympathy lies with them.

Grasshopper,
Wax on, wax off.. "The rank and file are rank" but I am use to the stench
I learned long ago to be entertained by their ranting and raving.
I will continue to post my travel experiences and I have no doubt as much as they claim to hate it they will continue to read my postings because in some weird way I think it makes their day

keorauc,
But where you again question by the same person two minutes later who allegedly admitted you into the country?
Immigration and customs procedures are always interesting in many countries but most do it professionally even if sometimes without personality...

BigAl,
Were you pick pocketed by the local police or a government official?
Is it all right with you and others if I decide how and where I spend my travel time or dollars?
Is there a reason you and others have to lower yourself to making personal attacks to try and make your point?
Typically this is a sign of weakness in your position, at least this is what I was taught in the third grade, last year

I hope you are not an attorney who handles Capital cases because if you employ the same logic in those arguments, all your clients would be dead by now. And tedious is not a personal attack, but a kind word for your actions.

kybourbon,
How difficult and expensive do you think it is for any police department that uses thousand dollar cameras to provide an accused with a photo of his/her alleged infraction? I image its pennies to print a photo on the letter that is mailed out.
In the US, in all the cities I am aware of where cameras are used for traffic infractions at least you are mailed a photo of the alleged infraction.
In cases where you are stopped by the police at least you are given an explanation right there of your alleged infraction and you know it is you that is been pulled over unless you have a split personality.
Obviously, you like others that have posted here think that this is a perfect system. However, the following from another poster on this thread shows that the police even with cameras and rental car companies are not above making mistakes.
"That said, my BIL is fighting a speeding ticket in France, which was issued on a DIFFERENT car, and on a date when he and his wife were already back HOME in the USA."
In your and others world I guess this posters BIL should just "roll with the punches" and send the French some bucks
