Il Ritrovo is a bit of a challenge to find! It's right where the address says it should be, given the "creative" numbering system in Florence, but it is not very clearly marked, and the street door simply leads to a few stairs down to the actual restaurant entrance. I would suggest allowing a little extra time (assuming you are walking), and bringing both the address and phone number.
IMHO, it was good, but not great, and, at least when we were there, mostly patronized by Americans. The staff was lovely, and we did enjoy the evening, but it's certainly not a secret.

Last year, in Sept, we ate there and there was a table one night with a three generation family enjoying dinner. I did not see any Rick Steves or Fodors books. We enjoyed the whole experience of the place. The owners were so friendly and since it is sort of tricky to find, being on the lower level from the street, with no large signage, we thought it was intimate and not touristy at all. The way they treat you is the quintessential friendly Italian experience IMHO.Can't wait to go back.
