IL Falconier in Tuscany?
Just wondering if anyone has stayed at the Il Falconiere in Tuscany and knows if it is a convenient location for touring Tuscany. Also, how are the accommodations and restaurants?
|
I stayed at Il Falconiere a couple of years ago and, while the property is really lovely, we were not impressed with the terrible service. We were not prepared for the indifferent and uncaring service at Il Falconiere.
Dinner was a nightmare, as it iwas very hot indoors, and they had not reserved a table for us, even though we were guests at the hotel! The wait for our meal was interminable. One couple just walked out. Breakfast service was the same thing. i thought i would die vefore they brought the coffee. I was also not impressed with Cortona, We found the location rather inconvenient for touring Tuscany, and there are many more charming hill towns from which to choose. |
Great hotel, great food, not a good location to tour Tuscany. It is outside Cortona which is somewhat isolated and a better location for Umbria. Try Castello Spaltenna or Locanda Amorosa for equal amenities and better location.

THanks for the information....I think I will stay at Locanda Dell'Amorosa after listening to your suggestions!

We stayed at Il Falconire two years ago and had a really good experience.
Our room was so nice and we enjoyed the one dinner that we ate in the restaurant. Our experience with the breakfast was also good. The location is a bit out of the way but we did make some good trips and absolutely loved Cortona. We had dinner at Locanda Amorosa and enjoyed it thoroughly. The grounds of Il Falconire are so pretty. I would be sad to know that the quality had gone down. AKNIC |
Can anyone advise if the restaurants at Il Falconiere and Locanda dell'Amorosa require gentlemen to wear jackets?
|
I can only speak for Il Falconiere: yes, they do require jackets.
