If you have been to the GUGGENHEIM MUSEUM in BILBAO...
In May 2006 I visited the Guggenheim in Bilbao and am still haunted by one “arrangement” – not a painting.
If I remember correctly, the exhibit was in a darkened room. On one wall was a video screen on which continually flashed different sacred texts – the Bible, Koran, Torah, Talmud, and a wide variety of oriental and occidental scripts. In the room facing this wall were several (8 – 10?) hooded figures, kneeling in worship as these texts changed continually. I do not recall if there were any sounds associated with this display, but the effect was powerful. I know that the Guggenheim has many temporary shows – not sure if this were one of them or if it is part of the permanent collection. Anyone remember this exhibit? |
We've been several times since the Guggenheim opened, but I can't say that I remember that specific show, and there's nothing in the images we have on file from past visits.

Get in contact with them: http://www.guggenheim-bilbao.es/secc....php?idioma=en
and perhaps tell us what it was? Sounds powerful. |
Robert 2533, thank you for checking your images/files. I am not sure how much of the Guggenheim collection is permanent.
Kimhe, I appreciate the contact number. Will get on it. Merci. |
I often wonder (not) if the cannon that shoots melted red wax against a wall is still there!
