Hi
My daughter is in Brussels now and having a great time! Actually, she called today from her car, driving through the Ardenne, after a day of castle looking and a shopping spree in Luxembourg ( the Shopping Mecca of the world) in her words :) She is planning on taking a train to Amsterdam for an overnight, she is renting an apt in Ghent also. She will be there for 2 weeks. She is loving the late sunsets and sitting in cafes and eating mussels and frites and drinking Cherry beer! ((F)) |

I was in Brussels, Antwerp, Amsterdam (and Delft, Den Haag, Rotterdam) just 2 weeks ago. Here is the link to my trip report if you want some ideas. I don't know if you like art & art museums - if you do, you'll find plenty to visit in all these cities. My trip report link: http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34626323 |
Hi d,
>How often do the trains run from Amsterdam to Edam or Delft?< Go to http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en for train schedules all over Europe. ((I)) |
For better train tables in the Netherlands check out the Dutch railway services at http://www.ns.nl
Anyway, back on topic: I certainly would choose Brugge. I'ld suggest Amsterdam over Brussel, but that's a question of personal taste (and that fact that Brussels has lost a lot of its charme in the last decade...). |
Amsterdam and Bruges. The latter is almost unique and should not be missed. And IMHO Amsterdam is a much more interesting, lively and enjoyable city then Brussels. (There is nothing wrong with Brussels - but to me it is a c+ and Amsterdam a B+ or A-.)
