If you can leave soon....
...and aren't bothered by the prospect of traveling during a potential war...and can book by Friday March 7....British Airways is offering 25% off already low economy class fares from the US to Europe. Must book online, must be a BA Executive Club member (?).<BR><BR>If the current situation keeps up airlines may as well give the seats away for free (just before declaring bankrupcy)<BR>

my spelling is "bankrupt" it seems

Exactly how did you find that price? When I go to BA.com and click on Mar.7 I get over $1,000 [because it's so late] and I see nothing about 25% off. Thanks

according to the email i got from ba, it's 15% discount for exec club members. here's the link<BR>http://www.britishairways.com/neon15

You might be able to sign up for Executive Club on-line and then get this discount; I'm not sure.... Here's the text of the e-mail I received:<BR><BR>"Thank you for your interest in receiving special travel offers from British <BR>Airways. Exclusively for you, we are delighted to offer a 25% discount off any of our <BR>World Traveller (economy class) fares to Europe and beyond....<BR>To take advantage of this very special offer just click here <BR>http://www.britishairways.com/neon25 log into your account and your 25% discount <BR>will be taken at the time of your World Traveller booking. Discount will be taken for bookings made for outbound travel <BR>through March 31, 2003. All rules of the fare purchased will apply, including <BR>advance purchase, minimum stay, weekend add-ons, and cancellation/refund rules. <BR>**Discount is only applicable for the named recipient of this email.**"<BR>

daph - i just "booked" a flight and the 15% discount is clearly marked for online transactions. of note: ba offered a 30% discount for a few days last month, which we took advantage of. does this mean that bookings are picking up and ba's discounts are falling?
|
follow up...I received the same email from BA that Lesli posted. <BR><BR>Daph--try a date later in March (the offer is good for outbound travel through March 31)<BR><BR>And if you got a different discount and want to find out why....well, good luck to anyone who is trying to navigate through BA's notoriously poor customer service, reservations and booking systems.

The thing that really annoyed me on BA 3 years ago is that they announced on the plane after it landed from Paris at Heathrow that we would have very little time to make BA--- to Los Angeles and that we would be helped. I guess that we should have nabbed someone with an automatic cart bacause we raced through but got hung up at the security line and didn't try to get to the front of the line. We got no help at all. We missed the flight and I was told that those 2 seats flew empty-what a waste of money! The next time it's every man for himself!

Sorry, meant to post this on "Have you ever broken into the front of the line?" question.
