could someone explain what is the differences between the left bank and the right bank in paris -

If you look at the map, the Right Bank (roughly speaking) is north of the river and the Left Bank is south. I say "roughly", because the river twists and turns.

Berlin is not the new Paris, it's just Berlin, but it's a fabulous place to visit.

Hmm, there is no other Paris and we found Lyon and other French cities, VERY different.

I would go to Provence if you want to stay in France or Burgundy.

City a must? Other beautiful European cities you might enjoy?

Prague, Barcelona, London, Stockholm, Seville, Madrid, Florence, Brugge or even Istanbul.
