iDTGV Summer Ticket Sales Open Today
For those interested in travel this summer...
Received an email today announcing that iDTGV tickets are on sale beginning March 7 for trips from June 13 to September 14, 2012. http://www.idtgv.com/fr/ (French) or http://www.idtgv.com/en/ (English) |

We need tickets for October 17, so I assume another month or so before I can book them; does that sound right?

SNCF sells TGV tickets 90 days in advance. iDTGV, on the other hand, puts tickets on sale on the same day for a range of dates.
The best way to find out when tickets go on sale for your date is to sign up for an "alerte résa" at http://www.voyages-sncf.com/services...te-reservation . I did this for two trains last fall and received email alerts the day prior to tickets going on sale for each. For the Paris-Lyon train I wanted, the SNCF site sold TGV tickets a week before tickets were available on the iDTGV site, but the iDTGV tickets were a little less. We were able to get 1st class iDTGV for €26, just a little more than TGV 2nd class PREMS at €22. 2nd class iDTGV would have been €19, and 1st class PREMS were €34. So the prices vary between the two sites. |
Any guess as to when the next block of dates of travel will open? I did sign up, but just wondered when the next sales period might be. How frequent do they open travel dates? Thanks.

Last year they opened sales for the period beginning September 15 on June 22. I believe that period covered up until some date in December, but not sure.

Thanks!
