Just a heads up. You can now reserve iDTGV tickets through september 15th.

iDTGV is available on the following routes:

Paris-Avignon
Paris-Marseilles
Paris-Toulon

Prices start at 19 euros for second class one way and 39 euros for first class one way. The prices go up as the seats are sold.

You can book them on http://www.voyages-sncf.com . If you need english look for the british flag towards the bottom left of the page. Just enter your cities and search. The iDTGV fares are clearly indicated in purple.

OK. Please be patient with me I am new at this. My computer and I are both in the US. I went to the sncf website and did the English link. So I just leave the where to collect section on "France" and order away. When it comes to 'send tickets' or 'print tickets', I can just print them and I'm done? I thought I read somewhere, that these tickets could not be purchased from the US.

Hello
I need to travel from Nice to Paris on 27 Sept and I plan on using idTGV because I can print my tickets in the US.

Does anyone know when this time period will be available on idTGV? I have been trying to buy four one way tickets for the past two weeks. They have not been available.
13 September is available.

If I buy from SNCF and pretend I am in France, I have to pick them up at a Train Station or Botique store.

Thanks for your thoughts.

mtjames,

Last spring I rather late decided to go down to Les Baux to a favorite place of mine. I got online and got a 1st class PREM in one direction and a idTGV in the other. I reserved seats and all. I picked them up at the SNCF boutique on rue St. Dominique which was very convenient for me. There are SNCF boutiques all over. Do note that the operating hours are not the same at all locations. Also, get there when they open, or before they open. They do get busy!

As to when your dates will be available..I have no idea how their system works. I would just check daily, unless someone else has better information.

Enjoy...

Joan

Thanks for your advice and example. I still can't believe you can go 1st Class from idTGV from Nice to Paris for only 39 E. I could not rent a car for that amount.

Looking forward to September in France.

It's been years since I've traveled on the TGV, so please pardon what will seemingly be a stupid question. I think I know, but, to make sure, what is the difference between idTGV tickets and PREM tickets? We will be traveling from Paris to St. Raphael on Sept. 18th and then returning to Paris via Avignon on Oct.3rd.
