IDTGV no option to book from CDG?
 

I am looking to book 6 tickets from CDG to Avignon. One recommended booking site is IDTGV because it is in English. The problem is that an option is not given to leave via CDG, only Gare du Nord, I think. Any ideas about this? I know there is a tgv station at CDG. Thanks.

I believe IDTGV is it's own entity, using its' own train stations. While they use the same lines, and sometimes IDTGV cars may be attached to regular TGV trains, they are in effect different entities.

You can book the tickets from Gare du Nord, and then also book RER tickets from CDG to Gare du Nord for an additional 8.50 per ticket. Does require a transfer at GdN.

There are no iDTGV departures from CDG. If you need to use an English site to book the TGV, try http://www.tgv-europe.com/en/?DISTRIBUTED_COUNTRY=GB .

On that site, when you enter your departure/arrival information, a box pops up that asks you to choose whether to be transferred to Rail Europe UK or continue on tgv-europe.com. Choose tgv-europe and continue on the site.

Choose your train and fare, confirm, then choose E-Ticket Service to be able to print your tickets.

You need to notify your credit card issuer that you will be purchasing these tickets on a French site.

The idTGV doesn't have its own train stations. SNCF runs the train stations in France, they can't build train stations just for one promotional type of train ticket.

TGV's etc to Avignon...thought only from Gare de Lyon....also, from CDG.

From CDG you can travel to the Avignon TGV station.

From Gare de Lyon, you can travel to the Avignon Centre station.

Given the choice, I would take the former option.

The only reference to Gare du Nord that I see on the SNCF (national train company) website is that you can take the RER from CDG to Gare du Nord, then the metro to Gare de Lyon, then the TGV to Avignon Centre.

Not impossible but not very appealing, if you have the option of a direct train from CDG.
