Ideas for Seville visit with kids
Hi,
We are a family from India planning to visit Spain in Early June with our 2 children (ages 10 and 14). We would like to spend 2 days in a nice boutique resort/B n B either in Sevilla or somewhere closeby to the town. Looking for suggestions from everyone on few places to stay at and places to visit of interest to kids. We would prefer if the resort/B n B is easily located near some form of public transport as we would be arriving from Barcelona by flight and may not have a car to move around. So pls suggest if travelling to Sevilla's sight-seeing spots like Alcazar , Parc Maria Lucia would reqiure a car or is the public transport well-connected and frequent so that we don't need a car? Finally is Sevilla a small town and can one visit these places by walking ?
Thanks in advance for all your tips and suggestions!

Great public transportation both in the area in general and in the city. Sevilla is quite small and very walkable, absolutely no need for a car within the city itslf.
Not sure if I understand what kind of "resort" you are looking for, but you could take a look at these places in the city and close to "everything":

http://www.booking.com/hotel/es/las-...-baeza.en.html
http://www.booking.com/hotel/es/cent...obarey.en.html

Sevilla could easily be a dream city for both children and adults without offering all kinds of entertainment. http://travel.nytimes.com/2006/08/27...anted=all&_r=0
The Isla Mágica (Magic Island) amusement park may nevertheless be a must with kids in Sevilla: http://www.islamagica.es/?idioma=en
And I would highly recommend to see a flamenco performance at La Casa de la Memória. Only top artists perform here. No food, no drinks, just flamenco in an intimate setting for about one hour. Could give you all a great introduction to this art form so important for Sevilla and Andalucía and with important Indian roots:

Karen Lugo is a rising star in the flamenco world:

And Casa de la Memória is situated in Calle Cuna 6, very close to Sevilla's most famous cake, chocolate and ice cream café, La Campana in Calle Sierpes, 1!

The cener of Seville - with most of hte tourist spots - is small - but the entire city is quite spread out - and if yuo are staying in the outskirts you would definitely need transt to get to the center.
Can help with aplae to stay - we always do full-service hotels right in the center so we can walk to sights, restaurants etc.

We stayed in an apartment right across from the cathedral. (Puerto Cathedral) While very touristy, it was perfect to walk everywhere. SEville is quite small and easy to get around. My kids enjoyed renting a boat in Maria Luisa Park and climbing up the cathedral tower. There are also fun bicycle carts to rent in the park. They loved getting fresh orange juice in the cafes and walking about the streets at night.

Thanks so much for the wealth advice kimhe, nytraveler and kpiepen! I liked Amadeus very much from your recommendations and will check them out! Also suggestions about the sightseeing spots and info sites are very useful; thanks! I'm glad to note that one can walk around Sevilla and no need for car.
