Ideas for a honeymoon--Greece or Spain?
Help! I was asked to help research a honeymoon trip for my brother and his fiance. The trip will probably be in early May--not sure how long it's for, but I would imagine 7 to 10 days, including flight times. Not sure about budget--maybe in the moderate range...
My brother tells me that his fiance likes coasts--I guess it means sun and beach resorts. I also know that they both like warm, sunny places. With this information, I was thinking either Greece or Spain. Knowing that Spain has the Alhambra, Gibraltar, and Andalusia (the land of flamenco), as well as a stonesthrow from Morocco, I was thinking Spain might be more "romantic." Any ideas or feedback will be greatly appreciated as far as romantic places to go to in Greece or Spain. Thanks. Lil |
Some idea of a budget would be very helpful. There are so many options in Spain that we may need a little more guidance on this matter.

I know, that was my response when I got roped into this. I mentioned Santorini vs the Costa del Sol, and he seemed to incline toward the latter, although he doesn't seem too keen on the fly/drive option too much.
I did find that there are some really excellent packages to Spain--maybe book one or more of the land packages, and add a rt flight for 2 with transfers? I know BA will allow you to customize in this way... I saw that Virgin has several packages also--one covers Madrid, Barcelona, Granada, Seville, Cordoba and Malaga. I think it's a fly/rail type of affair. Is it too much bustling about for a honeymoon? Or would Madrid and Granada and Cordoba, then Malaga be more of a honeymoon pace? Thanks. Lil |
Not a big fan of Costa del Sol...lots of high rise buildings and congested. Santorini has way more of a romantic and "wow" factor, though it's not known for its beaches. Still, Santorini is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.

check out 5 star resorts on spanish coast.. there are quite a few, far from the high rises, of course.
a few days in sevilla and then several at the beach might be a nice easy combination.( or vice-versa) |
If you want something with a little more relaxed atmosphere, a warm, sunny beach and good restaurants, then you can check out Valencia on the Costa Blanca, and the area around Cádiz on the Costa de Luz.
