Ideas for a 10 day northern Italy trip
My two teenaged boys (yes, boys) have asked if we can take a 10 day trip next august to Northern Italy. We were in Rome a couple of years ago. I'd like to get some ideas on where to fly in to, routes to take, etc. We're undecided as to starting in Florence or Venice. Would like to spend some time site seeing but also take a few days at Laga De Garda or Como (saw those driving from Munich to Rome on the last trip). Don't want to get museum'd out, get some downtime etc. Will be our last family trip for awhile since the older one will be off to college. any input on itinerary will be very appreciated!

To the top - For a 10-day trip, I suggest a Venice-Vicenza-Verona-Lakes-Malpensa sequence. Venice is a must. Florence and/or Cinque Terre are options but you have insufficient time for these beauties.

Flying into Venice and out of Milan would work well.
In addition to Lake Garda or Como, I'd say don't miss the Dolomites! Steve |
Suggest you post a message for NYCFoodSnob who has recently returned and is the best I've heard about that area, at least on this website.
