Ideas for 2 week trip in March

We are considering a 2 week trip the end of March to Europe, having been to most of the major cities already. Any ideas?

I think we need a LITTLE more guidance as to your likes and dislikes.

Otherwise, come to Scotland and visit the Outer Isles.

Yes, Sheila, Scotland is wonderful and we spent 6 weeks there. We enjoy the outdoors, walking and exploring, cultural sites (museums), castles and national heritage sites, meeting residents of the country in smaller settings (such as a B&B). Does that help some? We would love to return to Scotland, but at 59, we feel there are so many places and limited time and resources.

My goodness, Virginiafish, that is a big area to choose from without any indication. Of course, I think Italy, for me the absolute best. How about a stay in the country, such as in Umbria, Tuscany, Puglia, or Sicily? Plenty of small towns to visit, great meals to eat, wonderful art to see. Each of those areas needs a lifetime to know it well. Do you like cities? Then, why not a tour of the major cities in Sicily? It will be warm springtime weather, a delight. Or, go north to Venice, and stay a week, then Verona, Padua, etc. Take a look at ItalianNotebook.com and you might get some ideas. Lucky you, enjoy.

Sicily !

ok, I just check weather2travel.com and they said Palermo 48-58 degrees and Venice 39-54 degrees. These are areas we could enjoy, having only been to Rome for a week once in Feb. and another brief visit.

Malta is a fabulous place, we had about 10 days on Malta, 5 days on Gozo and 10 days in Sicily a few years ago. The flight between Malta and Catania in Sicily was 25 mins, there is also a ferry.

We found the Maltese very friendly, they all speak English as well as their own unique language, there is loads of history, easy to get around.

Have a look into it. We were really surprised at how much we enjoyed it, as it's not a well known destination. I did a trip report but it is a while ago now. If you click on my name (above) it might come up.

How well do you know Spain?

So much variety there, plus excellent public transport and many medium sized towns.

I will look more into these tomorrow. Thanks!
