Ideas about visiting Budapest this summer (rent, hotel, travel plan...)

Hello Everyone,

I'm planning a long trip to Budapest this summer, I'll stay for three month at least, so I'm a looking for a good plan to spend my money and my time.

The better way I found (on the internet) is to rent an apartment for a short term plan, also to visit as much places as I can, I'll start with Budapest, so do you have any ideas about holiday rentals or short term rent in Budapest?

Also need a good travel plan when I'll be in the city.

Thank you,
Monique.

"...visit as much places as I can, I'll start with Budapest,..."

Please clarify for me, does this mean you plan to be in Budapest for 3 months? Or that you'll be traveling for 3 months, including Budapest?

I suggest you buy a travel guidebook for each of your proposed destinations. I do it especially when I'm unsure about a destination as it's much cheaper to buy the book to find out I'm not excited about a place than to travel there and find it out. Guidebooks will give you much more in-depth information than we can here or you'll find on any website. When you know what the plan is, this forum is very good for pinning down details. But until then, I think you must do a bit of the work yourself.

But, yes, apartments are a good way to go. I like Airbnb.com. For a shorter stay in Budapest I stay at the Danube Guest House.

I have very much enjoyed staying in one of these

Don't know what the terms would be for three months, though.

Agree, your post is confusing. Are you staying in Budapest for three months, or traveling for three months?

"Madame Perdu": Thank you for you answer, I don't like temporary residence like Airbnb, as I already try them.
Regarding your question "does this mean you plan to be in Budapest ..." I'll be staying in Budapest and have 3 days off every week, so I like to visit more cities every week :p

What do you think about this service: http://www.city-getaway.com/en/apart...-in-Budapest/7 ? a friend suggested this website and I'm not sure about that.

-----------

"Thursdaysd" : as I already said, I'll be in Budapest for three months, but have free time every week so I wanna enjoy my stay by visiting more places and feel the country :)
Regarding the link you posted, I can't find any prices or a map? I prefer a place near the Danube River.

"I can't find any prices"

Really?? The third line at the top of the first page has the link to this: http://www.budapestvacationrentals.c...%26_Dates.html

For location: there are six apartments, you need to look at each individually. Yes, they are close to the river.

"as I already said, I'll be in Budapest for three months, but have free time every week"

That is precisely what you did NOT say.

I'm not sure I see the difference between an apartment booked on one site for 3 months rather than an apartment booked on Airbnb for 3 months. Three months is "temporary" either way. I think you're dismissing information without knowing what it is. Maybe lost somehow in translation. But carry on and good luck.

We live in the 13th on Szent Istvan Park. I would look from here to Parliament ... I also would suggest both airbnb and vrbo for this length stay. Our landlord was not willing to accept a lease duration of less than 2 years. To get such a short lease, I think you need to consider these types of options.

Being on the Danube is not as great as it is cracked up to be... Lovely to look at but very noisy with party boats all summer and til the wee hours of the morning.
