Idealrome-- this is a forum for travelers and advertising is not permitted, which is what you are doing. If you need to advsertise further, you need to email the potential customer directly or post it on YOUR website. There are rules to this forum and there are good reasons for that.

P.S. I personally would had gone with the vrbo apt....a no brainer if you ask me.

I think the concern people had with the vrbo apartment was its location on the corner of Via del Corso with traffic and street noise. That would be a problem for our family

Owners have the right to reply especially about opinions on apartment qualities that could not be appreciated without actually staying at the accommodation.

IdealRome-- no you don't; you ARE a business and you have your own website. The prior poster just referred to the sheets on the sofas and you went on and on (and on..) about your prices, views, location, reviews, apt size, etc, etc...!

If you know to follow rules you would respectfully link to YOUR WEBSITE for furter clarification. Post whatever lenghty explanation on your services you want on YOUR OWN WEBSITE. You used the Fodor's Forum to further advertise your busines and that is not appropriate. Call a spade a spade.

Hi all

I think it would be good if we just let this topic die.. I had no intention of doing anything to damage Ideal Rome's reputation. It looks like a great apartment, the owner was only every extremely polite in dealing with me and the reviews from fellow travelers on slowtrav were positive.

I think it is fair that he gave his feedback on the comments made... particularly as he identified himself and after all tripadvisor allows owners to add comments so I don't think it breaks the rules.

It does break the rules here. No advertising which is what he was doing. He only joined Fodor's to post about his apartment. While it might have a good location, it still only has a lofted bedroom which certainly doesn't appear you could stand up without hitting your head.

Unfortunately the owner of the apartment has had to cancel my booking as the dates are no longer available. Does anyone know of another apartment with such an nice open aspect<<<

You didn't wonder why you were canceled? You rented and then he canceled? I think that sums up the reputation.
