Idea for a new feature on the forums

I think it would be great if we had the ability to put certain threads on an "ignore" status. You know, the ones that just keep going and going and have no meaning. I hate it when I check my name set and the same stupid, silly threads keep popping up

1) Town names misspelled
2) Favorite British Sayings
3) anything to do with what pair of shoes to wear on a plane

Really, would it be much less effort to flag certain threads to be ignored than to just ignore them when you see them?

Hmmmm :?

Just don't open "Favorite British Sayings". Yep - there's the solution for you alrighty . . . .

Hi D,

>I hate it when I check my name set and the same stupid, silly threads keep popping up.<
Stop checking your name set?

Keep in mind, "one man's meat is another man's poisson".

"one man's meat is another man's poisson".

LOL -- love it!

What's a name set and why do stupid things pop up when you do that?

daveesl Nov 28th, 2009 06:49 PM

Ok, to try to make this simple...

First, click on your name. You will see all the great, thought provoking threads you started. They have to be great, because you started them. If someone has decided to attempt to answer your prose, then it is blue.

Next, we see all the other mindless drivel that for some reason, probably a drug-induced stupor, caused one to answer the other threads. These threads keep popping up, year after year and they show up BLUE.

So, how are you supposed to easily answer mindless drivel that might have actually been entertaining when other such trash shows up on your screen?

And yes, I'm being sarcastic.
