hello everyone
i have apply for greece tautotita and when i go to the office in ioannina they said the id cards are blocked in Athens because new id cards is being made

Anybody have information about this??

Are you a Greek citizen ? i am not aware of new identity cards being introduced anytime soon.......
ID's are essential for many important actions/transactions in Greece, so i can't imagine that new ones are not being issued.
From what i know the new identity cards will replace the existing ones in 2019 !

Non Greek citizens are not entitled to a Greek identity card.
The reason that you were told is also not valid, identity cards are not coming from Athens, they are issued on the spot.

Why do you need a Greek ID ? Do you have a work and resident permit?

i need a greek ID because i have put documents for Greek passaport

I called the Police in my city and they confirmed what i said earlier.
If you are not a Greek citizen, you have no right to a Greek ID, even if you have a work and resident permit.
