I think it's a bit too far out of the way for this trip. We will be doing a bird-viewing trip up near Husavik, and looking for puffins there (which is my main interest, I love the cuties!) :)

GD - with your itinerary, I think that you're right.

So long as you're going to see puffins somewhere - they are the most attractive bird.

I've seen them in Scotland, but was on the Isle of Staffa, with a storm angling in - they wouldn't stand still long enough to get a good photo of them :) They are adorable.

if you love puffins...are you going on a cruise from Reyjavik at all? we did the short puffin cruise out of the harbor and saw lots of them:

Wasn't planning on a Reykjavik one, but a Husavik whale/puffin cruise (http://www.gentlegiants.is/tours-and...-whale-safari/)

I'm back~!!!! I blogged every day! I will write up a formal trip report, and go through my 9000 photos shortly (I swear!) but for now, if you want the details, my blog is greendragonartist.net. :)

thanks for the link to your blog, GD. I haven't got time to read it all yet but the pics are good and it looks very interesting.

Glad you had what looks to have been such a great trip [and yes those Western Fjords do seem to go on forever, don't they?]
