Iceland in september or october?

Trying to decide which time would be best to go to iceland. Want to see the nothern lights and many other beautiful sights. And alao want to try a snowmobiling tour.
I know weather is very unpredictable ewpecially in iceland . I would like to avoid really bad winter weather so i can enjoy some sights & try to see some nothern lights. My 2 date options are september 24 until october 3. Or from october 2 until october 10 which of those dates might be best?

I know its not much of a difference but im reading winter starts in october in iceland i dont know if in the 1st half of october the weather gets really bad. October is cheaper as well which is great. Any thoughts?

Don't know, but if october is cheaper that would be an indicator that the weather is not as good. Also a touch less daylight in Oct if that matters to you.

Well, I guess October might be somewhat better if you're trying to see the Northern Lights, but even with the extra darkness it's no guarantee.

Thats true but at the end of september does the sun go down early enough to have some good darkness?
