Iceland in July

We are thinking about traveling to Iceland for 1 week in July/August timeframe.

What airlines would you recommend and what are some must-do items during this time?
Any recommendations on hotel/activities/restaurants would be much appreciated. We are trying to be budget-friendly and it is just 2 adults.

July/Aug this year? Unless you are staying all the time in Reykjavik (not really recommended, as most of the attractions are outside of the city), or camping, you will find very few accommodation options left. Those will drive your choices of where to go, what to do.
If next year, you have plenty of time to do some research, see what' appealing to you. You can start here

Where are you flying from?
