Iceland in early May

Taking a cruise next May that docks in Iceland for a few days.
How is the weather that time a year?
Am I making a mistake going this time of the year? Can always change to a later sailing.

The last two times we've been in Iceland (2014 and 2015), we were there at the end of April (when Iceland, which has only two seasons, winter and summer, changed to summer). It was freezing, or at least we were. Fascinating, lovely country, though.
