Hello travelers ,I am planing a trip to Iceland for 7 days in the month of December ,we would absolutely want to see the northern lights I will be traveling with my grownup kids ages 27 & 25 what should we not miss ,where to stay where to eat ? hotel suggestions ? which tour guides ? rent a car ?or not ?I am in search for help and wonderful ideas .Thanks in advance ,Happiest of Holidays !

Just quick . . . if >>we would absolutely want to see the northern lights<< is the main reason for traveling, you may be seriously disappointed. The weather and conditions must cooperate.

As noted, there is absolutely zero guarantee that you will see the Northern Lights. As for the rest of your questions, I'd start with a good guidebook or two - they will answer all your basic questions. Your kids are old enough to assist with the planning and offer their input. Then when you've formulated a plan people here can help you refine it.
