Iceland
Hi I have a layover in the capital of Iceland I know if you fly Iceland air you get to stay over for free. I was thinking about staying possibly two nights before heading back to New York and wanted to know if you all thought it was worth it. If so what do you suggest doing? What are the best sites, where are the best places to stay, etc

Do the Blue Lagon on the way into town or the on the way back to the airport (you will find that buses are set up to support this), have a day walking the city and maybe a pool visit at one of the many public baths, do a day trip with one of the small tour buses (small is vital) on the "Golden Tour".
Make sure you have waterproofs and sensible hiking boots Stay in Reykavik. Basically prices rise as you get towards the city centre to the West, but buses are all over the place, English is generally spoken (not always well, but well enough). If I had to chose I take one next to a public pool |
We stayed one night on a layover from Paris to Boston. We arranged to be picked up by a bus, driven to Blue Lagoon and then to the hotel (Hotel Fron). Next morning walk all over central Reykjavik and then bus to airport. It worked well for us. It was late March/early April and frigid.
