Two questions - going to Iceland in 5 weeks. Will be there 11 days and go all around the country. How cold should it be? I have a light weight down jacket - do I need a heavier coat? Also, I have a new Canon G9X camera. I know Point & Shoot cameras aren't the ideal for taking pictures of the Northern Lights but it's what I'll have. Please (in detail) tell me what settings to use on the camera for the best pictures. I plan on buying a small tripod before I go.

You can easily google for historical temperature averages. All I can tell you is that I've been there twice in recent years at the end of April/beginning of May and I was freezing.

The Northern Lights, to my knowledge, are rare this time of year. They are best seen in mid-winter and even then it's never a sure thing.
