Here's the link you need to Somerset House ice skating:

This one is just set up for a couple of months (end Nov to end Jan) - are you looking for something outside these dates?

As well as Somerset House, there are temporary rinks at Broadgate in the City, at County Hall and at Hampton Court.
There's a permanent rink next to Queensgate station. And outside the centre, there are rinks at Finsbury Park, Streatham, Alexanda Palace and the Lee Valley sports complex

We were in London last week and saw both the Somerset House and County Hall outdoor rinks. The rink at Somerset House is larger, but the ice was melting and there was about an inch of standing water on the surface. I'd bet that they've solved whatever the problem was by now. The County Hall rink appeared to be solid ice, but was less than half the size of the Somerset rink. Have fun!!

The rink in front of County Hall is not ice at all but rather a hard plastic material! I skated there 2 days ago. Very strange and hard to get used to as it is not slick and you really have to push hard to get a good glide. It's also a much smaller rink than the one at Somerset house. The advantages are 1) it's good for beginners as it isn't as slick as ice (you can easily walk on it) 2) it's only 6 pounds including skate hire 3) not as many people here as no one really seemed to know about it 4) the view is fabulous. This rink is located just above the aquarium.
We had tried to skate earlier in the trip at the Somerset House rink but they were fully booked for the next session and we would have had to wait around for about 2 hours. Looked very nice, though a bit crowded. Much larger rink. Would suggest booking in advance if you plan to skate here unless you come early on a weekday morning or don't mind waiting.
I have pics of both rinks if anyone is interested. Email me at [email protected]
I also read in the December BA in flight magazine that there is supposed to be a rink at Marble Arch this year but didn't see one there.
