Iberia strike days -- March, April, May
I was in Madrid a few weeks ago when some new strike days were announced for Iberia.
I'm assuming nothing has happened to change these days, but if lin or anyone in Spain hears updates, would you post them? (I'm leaving for Spain on May 24th, looks like I dodged a bullet).
March 16, 19, 23, 25, 26 and 30
April 2, 4, 9, 13, 16, 20, 23, 27 and 30
May 2, 4, 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 25 and 28.

Not all Iberian pilots strikes have been cancelled and yes the general strike is still on. How much it will affect the running of the country is open to discussion.
Note that Iberia pilots have a strike planned for the following day. Double wammy.

Ribeira, the strike for the 30th is cancelled, at least this morning it was still cancelled.
Cross fingers for the rest of the pilot strikes not to continue.
Cruiseluv, the general strike is on, and I haven´t heard anything about minimum services yet. That´s going to be complicated

Well ... bad news.
There will be strikes every monday and friday from the 9th of April until mid July.
I really have no words, I feel like they are playing with the normal customer. They have some good reasons to protest, but this is way over the top.

You're right, Cova, they're playing with and turning off the normal customer. I have flights booked on Iberia in May, including a flight from Bilbao to Madrid on Friday May 25. I was already annoyed by their seat assignment policy, and now this to worry about. It pretty much assures that Iberia will be low on the list the next time I'm looking for flights.
Thanks for posting these updates.

Yeah, heard about this yesterday and I'm not amused. My son is meeting us in Madrid, he's booked on the Iberia nonstop from Chicago on Friday June 22.
Cova, do you know if they will release soon the info on what flights they're planning to cancel? Will it always be the same flights? Would appreciate any further info you find out.

Jmct, check the easyjet flights for your Bilbao - Madrid trip, although that day will be difficult because the Athletic is playing the Cup final against Barça in Madrid, and many people will be flying. I have completely switched from Iberia to Easyjet since they began flying that route a month ago, and I have no complains.
Cruiseluv, I feel that they are going to release the info about cancelled flights very slowly. I don´t think that they will cancel flights for the whole period, maybe they will do it month by month. If the schedule is anything as tomorrow, the general strike day, I can tell you that they have cancelled both flights coming and going to Chicago. Get in contact with Iberia as soon as possible, you might be able to rebook via London (long, but effective).
I must go for work to Chicago either in May or June, and plans were to leave on a Monday and return the Friday of the following week, so you can imagine how I am feeling right now.

Thanks Cova. This ticket is with American Airlines FF miles, so I have to go through them to change. Maybe I'll see if they have availability for Saturday. I bet the moment I do that they'll change their strike dates to Saturday!

No, I don´t think they will change it, mostly because Friday is pretty bad for the normal customer, the one who wants to visit the family or has planned a weekend break.
I´d try for Saturday, or find out if they could make it via London with BA.
